Pirate Vest Linen Jack Sparrow Waistcoat Colonial POTC LARP
$
125.00

Authentic design linen colonial pirate vest. Patterned after the POTC movies, this Jack Sparrow Style waistcoat is sure to be a hit at your next event.

This is for a custom made wasitcoat (vest) patterned after the one seen in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Great for your Capt Jack persona! This is a reproduction garment. It is still period correct but it was made to look just like the one worn in the POTC movies.

Made from a dark blue 100% linen fabric. Back and front of the waistcoat are made from this linen. The inside is lined with a dark blue or gray cotton. The cotton helps hold a better shape to this garment as linen, while period correct, does not hold shape well. Linen tends to sag over time. If you are a reenactor this can be a problem with repeated use. I use a quilters cotton which is generally 80/20 cotton to poly blend (mostly cotton).

Style is the 1750's style which falls to mid thigh in length (the long style)

There are 12 actual buttonholes down the front of the waistcoat just like in the movie

Working pockets on this vest and the pocket flaps are styled after the actual costume. The flaps have working buttonholes as well...3 on each pocket

18 metal shank buttons are on the front of the waistcoat

Back of the vest falls to the hips and is vented at the sides. There is a linen adjustment tie on the back to adjust fit of the waistcoat.

Picture # 3 in my listing shows a black and white photo of the actual waistcoat for comparison.

Sizes available- S, M, L, XL

Pirate Vest Colonial Waistcoat Jack Sparrow LARP Brocade Style
$
80.00

Pirate vest in a brocade fabric fit for Jack Sparrow himself. This waistcoat is of authentic style so good for LARP pirate personas.

This is for a custom made men's waistcoat or long vest. If you are a woman playing a pirate persona, this item would also work for you.

Waistcoat or "vest" appears very definately with the reign of King Charles II around 1666 during the Restoration in Britain. The terms used for this article of clothing are interchangeable, waistcoat, vest, or weskit. With the 17th century coming to a close a man's doublet became a waistcoat with a man wearing a coat over it.

By the 18th century, a man was almost never seen without one. To be seen without his waitcoat was considered "undressed". The vests of the 1750's were worn to the upper thighs. The vests of the 1770's were a bit shorter and worn at about the hips.  By 1810 the fit became more fitted and shorter. SInce then, the vest has changed very little.

This is for a man's waistcoat circa 1750's. It goes to about the thighs in the front and is a shorter hip length in the back to make it easier to wear and move. The front will be made from a fancy fabric, either brocade, tapestry  or satin and the back will be a solid color cotton or solid lining.  There are pocket flaps in the front but there are no functional pockets. It buttons up the front with metal buttons. The buttons are functional on this vest. There is a tie for waist adjustment in the back. Waistcoat is lined with a solid cotton fabric.

Please note: Brocade availability can change.  Please email me with a color and I can see what is available for you in the brocades. There are also many colors of brocade with a different pattern. Just ask and I will be able to send photos.

This would be a great addition for a pirate persona or great for Colonial reenactment. Sizes available are:
